SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday tariffs will not likely resolve the trade imbalances that the Country says exist backward and forward economies and urged Washington to settle down and listen to the voice on the international community.

Speaking within the sidelines on the choosing Southeast Asian foreign ministers, Wang said pressure in the United States will not have any have an effect on any trade negotiations.

The U.S. Trump administration has sought to ratchet up pressure for trade concessions by proposing a more significant 25 % tariff on $200 billion price of Chinese imports.
